Girls Night Out in Chicago

Theory at ShopStyle

I finally got to wear my sequin Theory t-shirt (which I bought for $111, marked down from $495). My friend & I met in Chicago last weekend to celebrate her 30th birthday (which was months ago). On Saturday we did some shopping on Michigan Avenue--I was looking for black shorts to go with my sequin top and found them at the first store we went in. They were on sale at Kenneth Cole & super comfortable ($29.99, originally $58). I got the black, not the pictured gray. I also got some Steven mary janes for $20. My friend got a really awesome pair of pewter pumps at Nine West.

Saturday night my boyfriend drove us downtown & dropped us off at the W Lakeshore for a girls night out. There's a great view at Whiskey Sky. From there we went to Climax and danced the night away. With the shorts & top I wore black patent peep-toe pumps from Target and borrowed my friends silver earrings (which look like the paperclip earrings minus the middle clip part (does that make sense?)). I couldn't find pictures of either of those things, but you get the idea. If I weighed 15 pounds less, I probably would have felt as hot as the outfit looked.

Oh, Christian!

I can't afford them (even on sale), but Christian Louboutins are fun to look at (and try on...much to the dismay of salesclerks at Saks). From the fall collection, I'm loving the Drapiday Asymmetric Suede Sandal, which comes in black & taupe (top left & top right, respectively). It's not new this season, but the Lady Gres Knot Pump in black (center) is totally fab. I should be happy with my Isaac Mizrahi booties, but I WANT the C'est Moi shoe boots (middle left). The Cambrina tall boots are also hot. Maybe it's the SATC movie influencing me, but I'm pretty sure I need some blue jewel-toned shoes like the Rosazissimo satin sandal on the top middle or the New Simple Pump in royal blue on the bottom middle. The nude Zipette (bottom right) is just a fun shoe and the Suede Cutout Pump (middle right) is more classic, but with a twist.

If I did splurge on some Louboutins, I'd probably go with the classic black patent covered platform ($700 at Neiman Marcus). NM also has a dressier version of the Drapiday Asymmetric Suede Sandal. The Drapinight Jeweled d'Orsay comes in silver & black and is $795.

My favorite shoes at Saks are the Gattaca Loafer Pump ($875) with a futuristic feel and the Triclo Point-Toe Pump ($795), which also come in red.

HUGE Neiman Marcus Sale

Right now sale items are an additional 40% off at Neiman Marcus plus you get free shipping at any price with coupon code SHIPJUL. I was looking at a pair of Nanette Lepore sandals at Saks, but they didn't have my size. Then I remembered NM was having their huge sale. It must be my lucky day, because one size 6 was left!! Here's the Sassy Swirl Platform Pump in Clay:
